The Safarini Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit created by the founders and alumni of Safarini Leadership, which takes global leaders on transformational growth journeys through northern Kenya, co-facilitated by tribal elders. The foundation was established to give back to the communities that inspire and enable these transformations.
We channel the generosity of Safarini Leadership alumni and friends to empower local organizations that are designing and delivering practical and sustainable development initiatives.
Our Origins
From Boardrooms to the Bush
After years in corporate boardrooms, we learned no balance sheet could fill the soul. Our search for meaning led us to the red soil of northern Kenya, where time with the Samburu people forever changed us. Walking through the bush, we were met with kindness and wisdom that helped us rediscover our voices, heal old wounds, and see beauty in its purest form.
Rooted in Relationship, Built on Trust
The Samburu hold a deep connection to land, legacy, and each other—but face urgent challenges: limited access to education, clean water, medical care, and the resources to protect their way of life. Safarini grew from the bonds we built walking beside them—listening first, earning trust, and honoring their wisdom. Together, we nurture the relationships within the community that make lasting progress possible, so that solutions come from the people who will carry them forward. Our work is not about giving to, but growing with—preserving traditions, strengthening wellbeing, and creating spaces where cultures meet as equals.
A Future Worth Walking Toward
We envision thriving Samburu communities where traditions live on, wildlife roams free, and future generations inherit both their heritage and the resources to flourish. Your support preserves culture, protects the land, and ensures that Samburu wisdom continues to inspire the world.
